Adler and Allan’s disaster response to battling Britain’s biggest ever spill
Before the fire was even extinguished, Adler and Allan disaster response teams were on site planning the oil clean-up and land remediation tactics that have now successfully contained much of the potential for environmental disaster.
Emergency Response Teams First Objectives
We established an onsite field-headquarters to coordinate the emergency oil spill response teams. Meanwhile, waste disposal and tank sites were rapidly identified, nominated and placed on standby.
Un-burnt fuel and other liquids were pumped and transported from the site using the Adler and Allan tanker fleet, whilst other specialist vehicles were engaged in excavating and clearing the vast area that was affected.
Working as Principal Contractor in the aftermath of the Buncefield explosion and fire was an exceptional team effort and an unrivalled demonstration of Adler and Allan disaster response capability.
