We are seeking to recruit an Environmental Technician to join our contaminated land team based at our service centre in Droitwich.

Reporting to the Senior Environmental Technician and Contaminated Land Manager, the primary purpose of the role is to undertake field based monitoring and collect environmental samples for laboratory analysis and complete installation and commissioning of in-situ remediation equipment including pumps and oil water separators. A secondary purpose will be ensuring the maintenance, calibration and general management of monitoring equipment and sampling consumables.  An overarching purpose of the role will be to undertake any or all required tasks to facilitate planning, procurement, supervision, data collection and storage in relation to Contaminated Land Investigation and Remediation works. Other key tasks and accountabilities associated with this role are as follows:

 

  • Undertaking field monitoring works including measurement and sampling.
  • Installation and commissioning of in-situ remediation equipment including pumps and oil water separators
  • Assisting with management of monitoring programme, monitoring equipment, equipment maintenance and stock.
  • Provision of accurate and timely information to line management.
  • Supporting team performance by sharing knowledge and best practices at all levels.

 

The postholder will be expected to provide a regular report to Line Management; this report will provide an overview of the post holder’s workload, identify successes, future targets and any issues for concern.

Applicants should possess qualifications and/or experience relevant to environmental response or monitoring work, experience in scientific measurement, data collection and presentation relating to Earth or Environmental Science, in either a contracting or consulting organisation an advantage and be capable of independent work and decision making.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are a must, with the ability to communicate complex subject matter in a clear and concise manner.

Training will be given where necessary; however the company are looking to recruit a self-motivated individual, with excellent communication and organisational skills and a willingness to undertake additional duties to be an asset to the company.
