UKAS accredited road tanker inspection & testing services
Adler & Allan group company, E&S Environmental, provides independent road tanker inspection, testing and certification services. One of only a handful of companies to gain UKAS (0311 Type C Inspection Body accredited to ISO/IEC 17020:2012) accreditation, E&S is accredited to perform Vapour Tightness Testing, Intermediate and Periodic inspection and testing, using fully trained and experienced inspectors, covering all locations in the UK. Road tanker inspection and testing can either be completed on site, or at one of E&S’ nominated workshops.
We have developed unique methods of testing some components in situ to avoid the need for removal for bench testing, offer a full fleet management service for any size of operator and can hold our clients’ fleet details on a secure database, enabling us to take responsibility for ensuring that all tests are carried out on schedule. Clients have password-protected database access to view their fleet information, including test results and certificates.
Vapour Tightness Testing (VTT)
Vapour Tightness Testing and certification to comply with current legislation for Safe Loading Pass, necessary every two years. Our Inspectors are accredited by the FTA to issue Safe Loading Passes for all types of fuel road tankers.
Intermediate Tanker Testing
Intermediate tank testing using gas to ensure the integrity of the barrel from both external and inter-compartmental leaks. Current legislation stipulates that this should be carried out at up to three yearly intervals, however it is common industry practice to complete this every two years, in-line with the VTT.
Periodic Testing, using Gas or Water
Periodic Hydraulic Tank Testing using gas/water to ensure the integrity of the barrel from both external and inter-compartmental leaks. Current legislation all tanks are subject to this testing procedure every six years.
Unlike traditional water testing, using gas eliminates the risk of water cross-contamination and potential biofuel fungal issues, thereby reducing business costs. Environmental credentials are also enhanced as the unnecessary wastage of water is avoided, as well as subsequent disposal costs. We can carry out gas testing at client’s premises, saving on fuel and reducing tanker off-road time.
Industry-leading EPRV testing
We have developed a unique method of testing EPRVs in situ, without the need to remove the lid – a usual requirement of bench testing. This approach saves time as well as costs to the client. We can also test PV valves individually for conformity and only change if there is a problem, further saving on costs.
