The current 2010 courses scheduled are as follows:

12-14 January 2010 - Beachmaster training at Bury St Edmunds (theory) and ABP Ports Ipswich (practical)

27-28 January 2010 - Oil Pollution Response Refresher Training, desk top and deployment exercises at Exchem, Harwich, Essex

22-25 February 2010 - On Scene Commander course held at British Waterways London Docklands.

Foundation Level - MCA Level 1P - One day course
For staff starting a job within a port, introducing them to preparedness and response requirements for marine spills within a port, in particular their port, its OPRC Plan and their involvement in the plan should they become involved with a spill. Course is aimed at both operational and non-operational staff who need to know the basics of oil spill response.

First Responder MCA Level 2P
For on site staff working within a port, and who are required to respond in the first instance. Introducing them to preparedness and response requirements for marine spills within a port, in particular their port, its OPRC Plan and their involvement in the plan should they become involved with a spill.

Beachmaster/Supervisor Level - MCA Level 3P - Three day course
This course is designed for anyone from ports, terminals or local authorities who would act as a Supervisor or Beachmaster to supervise clean up, manage on site logistics and waste management issues. Provides understanding of clean up techniques and equipment, the management of a clean up team, prioritisation, and liaison with the On Scene Commander. Includes a short desk top exercise and practical experience with equipment. Can be conducted at client's own facility to incorporate individual requirements.

On Scene Commander Level - MCA 4/5P - Four days
Designed for Harbour Masters and Managers of ports, harbours and oil handling facilities who would assume the role of On Scene Commander. Provides detailed understanding of both the practical and especially the tactical and strategic issues involved. Includes a variety of exercises including a desk top exercise and practical experience with equipment. Can be conducted at client's own facility to incorporate individual requirements.

Refresher Level - One day course - Necessary every three years
This course is designed to update current certificate holders with any changes. Incorporating the Nine Steps of Spill Response and a desk top exercises, with a participation in a response exercise to fresh and test the participants ability. Can be conducted at client's own facility to incorporate individual requirements.
