The Project

E&S Environmental, part of the Adler and Allan Group, was contracted to provide real-time remote monitoring of cesspit tank levels at 11 Esso sites. Our client’s priority was to avoid any spill incidents on its sites, and therefore it required full visibility of its waste management process, and a reliable alarm system.

The Solution

We installed a sensor in the cesspit tanks, which allowed tank levels to be viewed in real time by one central monitoring point. The remote monitoring system sends an SMS or email alert to the central point when levels rise, and has high level alarm capability to alert designated personnel. Following an alert, a tanker is sent to the site to empty the cesspit. One of the advantages of this system is that tankers are only despatched when needed, leading to a reduction in tankering costs.
