Dealing with the Christmas floods

This Christmas has been a wet one for many people, with thousands of homes and businesses in the North of England sadly affected by flooding. Despite the holiday season, Adler & Allan has been on call to help a number of office buildings, forecourts, retail outlets and other business clients minimise the devastation and get back up and running as quickly as possible.

We have been supplying emergency flood response services in the UK’s worst affected areas, including York and Leeds. Works include uplifting oily waters from business premises, general flood clean up, road sweeping and pumping out flood waters from affected sites. With more rain expected over the next few days, courtesy of Storm Frank, the worst is not yet over, and Adler & Allan’s nationwide flood response teams are poised to deal with more flooding.

Going forward, we hope the Government makes flood defences a priority; the disruption and damage it causes to people’s lives and the cost for Britain’s businesses is not acceptable. Unfortunately, the pattern of winter flooding seems to be a recurring and increasing problem.

Flood defences: Following a flood risk assessment, we can advise appropriate flood defence measures. Flood defences available through Adler & Allan, include JBAR®, a newly patented modular flood defence system that prevents spills as well as mitigating against flood water.

Testimonials

We are very grateful to all those who assisted with the water ingress, starting from the initial call out response, co-ordinating and deploying the team to site with all the necessary equipment to help manage the large volume of water that was entering the building and the continued support until resolution of the external leak and the assistance with the cleaning up process.
