Planned preventative maintenance services

We believe prevention is better than cure.

We take a proactive approach to maintenance, ensure work is scheduled to take place regularly, and then documented once it has taken place.

A planned preventative maintenance (PPM) contract with Adler and Allan means that maintenance tasks are scheduled ahead of time, to take place on a regular basis – even while an asset is still functioning normally.

The idea is to prevent problems before they occur, and long term reducing the cost of the asset, this strategy is a highly beneficial for our partners. We believe that prevention is better then a cure.

Planned maintenance

  • Reduces overall running costs
  • Helps maintain compliance with relevant standards and good practice guidance
  • Can extend asset lifespan
  • Increases safety on site
  • Reduces downtime
  • Reduces likelihood of environmental damage and negative attention

Reactive maintenance

  • Reactive maintenance can solve problem in the short term, but...
    • Often has higher asset costs over the lifespan
    • Could attract higher fines
    • Could cause more damage and injury
    • Difficult to financially plan

Why do I need to adopt a PPM schedule?

A correctly documented PPM schedule can help partners demonstrate they have taken all reasonably practicable measures to mitigate the risk of a pollution incident.

We supply you with the appropriate PPM schedule and all relevant documentation demonstrating that equipment is maintained in line with manufacturer’s instructions, industry agreed good practice, and relevant standards.

For example: BS EN 858-2:2203

Separators/interceptors should:

  • Be serviced and maintained as a minimum on a 6 monthly basis
  • Be subject to a maximum interval of 5 yearly integrity testing
  • Have up to date, and available on request, cleaning and maintenance records

Our PPM service packages are designed to keep you compliant with the relevant industry standards and good practice guidance.

Implications of CIRIA C736

For all owners and operators of any size industrial and commercial facilities where there is storage of substances that could be harmful to the environment, we are able to assist with our knowledge and understanding of C736 (Containment Systems for the Prevention of Pollution).

This guidance, with a particular focus on fire, flood and spills, was commissioned by the Environment Agency in 2012 to help contain and control pollution events.

Using our knowledge and experience of CIRIA 736, we have worked with our partners on compliance and maintenance of their primary, secondary, tertiary, and fire water containment. We then put in place a structured and site specific maintenance schedule that protects those assets through the life-cycle .
