Fuel and flooding experts at Data Centre World 2015

Adler and Allan, leaders in oil and environmental services, will be exhibiting at Data Centre World, taking place at London’s ExCel, 11-12th March 2015. The two-day event brings together data centre experts and service providers from across the globe, with exhibition stands as well as a series of conferences led by key industry speakers.

Stand C85 will play host to Adler and Allan’s team, ready to advise on how to ensure data centres keep running through fuel polishing and general tank services, as well as the pertinent matter of flood mitigation. Alan Scrafton, Group Marketing Manager, at Adler and Allan, explained:

“With most data centres holding large amounts of fuel to feed generators as back-up power, it is vital that the quality and cleanliness of the fuel within storage tanks is maintained to minimise the risk of blockage, contamination or fuel system wear. Our tank services are available 24/7 to keep businesses running smoothly.

“In addition, flooding poses an ever-increasing threat to data centres. Businesses need to protect their assets, actioning risk assessments and implementing flood mitigation steps to minimise the damage flooding can cause. It is far better for businesses to be proactive, rather than reactive; think long-term, calculate the risk to protect these often essential facilities.”

Fuel and flooding experts
For data centres with oil generators, Adler and Allan can provide regular maintenance programmes to ensure fuel quality, helping to reduce downtime and maintenance costs. Its mobile tank cleaning service can treat any amount of fuel from 3,000 to 100,000 litres per hour, using custom-built fuel polishing and tank cleaning units in a safe and efficient environment.

Where flooding is concerned, Adler and Allan carried out rigorous Flood Risk Assessments (FRA), establish a flood plan and then put in place the appropriate flood defences, which could range from lightweight demountable systems to our newest product, JBAR, a modular flood defence system which can also provide spill containment.

The two men who came up to the Distillery did an excellent job. You would not know that there had been a spillage, they left the place spotless.

We are very grateful to all those who assisted with the water ingress, starting from the initial call out response, co-ordinating and deploying the team to site with all the necessary equipment to help manage the large volume of water that was entering the building and the continued support until resolution of the external leak and the assistance with the cleaning up process.
