Setting the standard: Adler & Allan celebrates triple success at UK & Ireland Spill Association Annual Awards 2025

Our continued leadership in pollution management and environmental response has been recognised once again at the UK & Ireland Spill Association Annual Awards, where we were honoured with awards in three categories by the lead industry body.

The awards provide a respected platform for recognising excellence and innovation in environmental emergency response. We were proud to stand out among industry peers, earning recognition for our dedication, technical expertise, and unwavering commitment to pollution management.

Here’s how these award-winning projects – and our talented individuals – are making a real difference in safeguarding ecosystems, commercial operations, and local communities from pollution incidents.

1. Inland Responder – Large Incident

The award in this category recognised our exceptional response to a large-scale crude oil spill in southern Scotland, where we demonstrated our industry-leading expertise in environmental protection and emergency management.

Operating in one of Scotland’s most pristine and ecologically sensitive landscapes, we delivered a full turnkey solution that safeguarded vital salmon and trout spawning grounds, protected local watercourses, and preserved natural peat habitats. Through rapid containment, detailed investigation, and phased remediation, we minimised environmental, reputational, and regulatory risks.

This award highlights our commitment to sustainable recovery, stakeholder collaboration, and long-term ecological stewardship.

2. Inland Responder – Small Incident

This award is testament to our rapid and comprehensive response to a red diesel spill at a Grade II-listed estate, where we demonstrated our outstanding capabilities in environmental protection and incident management.

Mobilising our Group company MEL Environmental Services Ltd, we delivered a full turnkey solution that safeguarded a historically significant estate and its vulnerable watercourses. From emergency containment and vacuum recovery to biological soil treatment and long-term remediation, we minimised environmental impact while maintaining public trust and regulatory compliance.

This award highlights our commitment to creating better environmental outcomes.

3. Rising Star

We are delighted to recognise Jack Anderson, our Rising Star, which shines a light on the importance of developing new talent in the industry.

Since joining MEL in 2022, Jack has progressed from Environmental Technician to Project Manager, earning praise for his technical precision, calm communication, and standout customer service. Managing up to 14 live remediation projects at once, Jack’s dedication, attention to detail, and personable approach have made him a trusted figure among clients and colleagues alike.

The category celebrates emerging talent, and Jack’s nomination reflects his rapid growth and consistent excellence in the field.
