Putting people first: Supporting menopause and menstruation at Adler & Allan

Published 16 October 2025

Our ESG strategy is built on a simple but powerful principle: people first. We believe that a truly sustainable business is one where every individual feels safe, supported, and empowered to thrive. That’s why we’re committed to fostering a workplace culture that listens to challenges, responds with empathy, and builds inclusive solutions that reflect the diverse needs of our people.

One of the ways we’re doing this is through our menopause and menstruation inclusion strategy, which is helping to break down taboos, raise awareness, and create a more supportive environment for all employees.

This October, we’re proud to mark World Menopause Day, a global initiative led by the International Menopause Society and WHO to improve understanding, reduce stigma, and highlight support options for those experiencing menopause.

In line with the Government’s Menopause Action Plan, put forward in the Employment Rights Bill (October 2024), we’re proactively preparing for the 2027 mandate requiring large employers to publish personalised support plans. Our approach includes:

  • Flexible working policies and workplace adjustments
  • Internal support networks and trained menopause advocates
  • Mental health and wellbeing resources
  • Manager and HR training to foster understanding and empathy

Aligned with Menopause Awareness Day we are proud to kick off our advocate training to equip colleagues with the skills and knowledge to support others, signpost resources, and promote inclusive behaviours. This training covers everything from symptom awareness and lifestyle tips to safeguarding and confidentiality.

We’re proud that this initiative has been shortlisted in the Energy & Utility Skills Awards 2025 for Diversity and Inclusion Initiative of the Year, a testament to the passion and commitment of our people.

This is just one of many steps we’re taking to ensure Adler & Allan is a place where people feel heard and supported. Whether it’s through our mental health champions, carers network, ex-forces mentoring programme, or leadership development for women, we’re building a culture of respect, empathy, and inclusion.

Because real change starts with listening and acting with purpose.
