ESOS phase 3 compliance deadline extended by six months to 5 June 2024
Published: 21 June 2023
In July 2021, the Government launched a consultation into proposed changes to the Energy Savings Opportunity Scheme (ESOS), which was formalised in its response in July 2022.
As the compliance deadline is fast approaching but the changes are still yet to be made, the Environment Agency has extended the deadline for compliance with phase 3 of ESOS to 5 June 2024 (an extension of six months from the previous deadline of 5 December 2023). This is to allow participants to meet the new requirements and for assessors to carry out assessments.
Even though the compliance deadline has changed, the qualification thresholds and dates remain the same, meaning that any company or group that qualified for ESOS as a large company on 31 December 2022 must still comply with phase 3 of ESOS.
